Thirty years ago, the renowned cello teacher Dobrila Berković-Magdalenć founded The international summer music school Upbeat, which this year will host big names from the world of music in Zagreb, Osijek, Milna and Sutivan on the island of Brač.
From July 1 to August 20, the visiting professors will be Ana Domančić, flute, professor at the Academy of Arts in Split, Slawomir Grenda, double bass,
solo double bassist of the Munich philharmonic orchestra, David Grigorian, cello, retired professor
from Saarbrucken university, Joel Hoffman, composer, professor emeritus at the Cincinnati university, Eva Hühn, violin, professor advisor from Osijek, Ana Kandinskaya, violin, professor at the Joseph Haydn Conservatory in Eisenstadt, Dorotea Vismara, viola, professor at the Bolzano Conservatory in Italy. As every year, students will work for ten days on their artistic refinement and hold a concert for visitors in Sutivan, Milna, Ložišće, Bobovišće na moru, Supetar, Osijek and Zagreb.
